Ellen Wasylina was invited to speak at a G20 roundtable on Zero Waste in New Delhi, India on the kind invitation of the Directorate of Communication of the Turkish Presidency, to share her expertise as former director of Environment of a French city and share France’s engagement in a national robust and successful recycling policy.
The “Zero Waste” initiative, created under the auspices of First Lady Emine Erdoğan, encompasses waste prevention, more efficient use of resources, waste generation reduction, the establishment of an effective waste collection system, and recycling while being a roadmap for a green future, reminding humanity that a waste-free and sustainable life is possible. In addition, on December 14, 2022, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously adopted the “Zero Waste” resolution, which was presented by Türkiye, with 105 other countries. March 30 has been proclaimed “International Day of Zero Waste” per the resolution of the General Assembly.
